Construction Dispute Solicitors

Construction disputes can have a significant impact on project delivery, cash flow and commercial relationships. Whether the issue arises from delays, payment disputes, defective works or contractual disagreements, unresolved conflict can quickly escalate and affect the overall success of a project.

The construction industry operates within tight margins, strict timelines and complex contractual frameworks. When disputes arise, it is essential to take early, commercially focused legal advice to protect your position and minimise disruption.

Our construction dispute solicitors advise contractors, subcontractors, developers, consultants and employers across a wide range of disputes. We provide clear, strategic guidance designed to resolve issues efficiently while supporting your commercial interests and maintaining project momentum wherever possible.

How Our Construction Dispute Solicitors Can Help

Every construction dispute is different, often involving multiple parties, layered contracts and detail. Our approach is to fully understand both the legal framework and the commercial realities of your project before advising on the best course of action.

We take the time to review contracts, project documentation, payment records and correspondence to build a clear picture of your position. This enables us to identify risks, assess liability and develop a strategy aligned with your commercial objectives.

Our focus is always on achieving a practical and cost effective resolution. Where possible, we look to resolve disputes quickly through negotiation or adjudication. Where this is not appropriate, we provide strategic representation through litigation or arbitration.

We can assist with:

  • Early case assessment and risk analysis
  • Reviewing construction contracts and project documentation
  • Advising on strategy and dispute resolution options
  • Negotiation and settlement discussions
  • Representation in adjudication, litigation and arbitration

Resolving Construction Disputes Efficiently

In the construction sector, time and cost pressures mean that disputes must be handled quickly and effectively. Delays in resolving issues can lead to escalating costs, project overruns and strained commercial relationships.

We focus on identifying the most efficient resolution route at the earliest stage. This may involve adjudication for rapid decisions, negotiation to preserve working relationships or formal proceedings where necessary to protect your position.

Our advice is always commercially driven, ensuring that legal strategy supports your wider business objectives and project outcomes.

Alternative Dispute Resolution

Disputes are an inevitable part of running a business, but court proceedings are not always the most effective way to resolve them. Alternative dispute resolution (ADR) offers businesses a faster, more cost efficient, and less disruptive way to settle disagreements. Methods such as negotiation, mediation and arbitration allow parties to reach commercially focused outcomes.

Our alternative dispute resolution solicitors work with businesses to resolve disputes efficiently and strategically. We focus on protecting your commercial position while minimising disruption to your operations and key relationships.

Adjudication

Adjudication is a fast and effective way to resolve disputes without ending up in prolonged commercial litigation.

Many commercial contracts and agreements include adjudication as the preferred means of alternative dispute resolution (ADR). However, even if adjudication is not referred to in a contract or deal, the parties to a commercial dispute can agree to use adjudication.

Our adjudication solicitors will explain the adjudication process and discuss whether adjudication is the best method for your business to resolve its dispute with a third party.
