Antonia Rotaru

Antonia is a Solicitor in IMD’s Family Law team, advising clients on a broad range of family matters, with particular experience in divorce, financial remedy proceedings, children matters and cases involving international and cross-border issues.

She acts for clients in both amicable negotiations and complex contested court proceedings, helping individuals and families navigate difficult situations with clarity, confidence and a practical strategy for moving forward. Her work includes divorce and financial matters, all types of applications concerning children under the Children Act, international relocation cases, wardship proceedings, matters involving unmarried couples, and the Single Solicitor service for couples seeking a constructive and cost-effective way to resolve family issues.

Antonia has experience assisting on cases involving significant assets, complex financial arrangements and sensitive international family law issues. She has been involved in proceedings concerning disputes over beneficial ownership of property, international child travel and child abduction risks, wardship applications, relocation of children abroad, legal services payment orders, maintenance pending suit applications and family proceedings with related probate issues.

Her experience spans a broad range of complex family law matters, including substantial TOLATA arbitration proceedings involving assets exceeding £1.75 million, contested financial remedy cases, private FDRs, and applications for legal services payment orders and maintenance pending suit. She has also assisted in High Court proceedings involving international children issues, including wardship applications, overseas travel disputes, the recovery of identity documents under court order, and a successful application to relocate a child to the United States. In addition, she has represented vulnerable clients in sensitive proceedings concerning contact with a child subject to a Special Guardianship Order.

Outside of work, Antonia enjoys travelling and experiencing different cultures, traditions and communities around the world. She also enjoys spending time with family and friends, often bringing people together over a carefully curated cheeseboard and good conversation.
