Ani Gabisonia

Ani Gabisonia is a Paralegal at IMD Solicitors, supporting both the Family and Criminal Law departments.

She works on a broad range of family law matters, including divorce, financial remedy proceedings and children cases. Ani assists with all stages of case preparation, including drafting court documents and applications, preparing hearing bundles, liaising with clients and third parties. Alongside supporting fee earners across the department, she also manages her own caseload.

Ani also works within the Criminal Department, assisting on matters ranging from pre-charge representations to cases before the Magistrates’ Court and Crown Court. Her role includes case preparation, legal research, drafting and client support.

Ani holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the National Research University HSE in St. Petersburg and a Master’s degree in Applied Criminology from Manchester Metropolitan University. She is currently completing an MA Law with SQE1 Preparation Course at The University of Law as part of her route to qualification as a solicitor.

Prior to joining IMD, Ani worked as an Assistant Investigator and as a Legal Adviser for a women’s crisis centre. She has also volunteered for human rights organisations and worked as a learning mentor supporting vulnerable adults. Her academic interests have focused on socio-political issues including domestic abuse, xenophobia and hate crime.

Ani speaks English, Russian and Mingrelian.

Outside of work, Ani enjoys yoga, running and strength training. She is an enthusiastic collector of DVDs and has a particular interest in gothic horror literature.
