Maciej has been working in criminal defence since 2013 and qualified as a Solicitor in 2016. He then progressed further and gained Higher Rights of Audience in 2017 allowing him to represent clients before all criminal courts in England and Wales.
Maciej is a confident and skilled advocate with considerable experience in defending all types of allegations, ranging from minor offences to serious crimes. He is regularly instructed to act for clients at police stations, magistrates’ courts and crown courts across the country. Maciej provides representation on both privately funded and legally aided basis.
Maciej is recognised for his direct, professional and sensitive approach when acting for his clients during all stages of criminal proceedings. He is conscious of the negative effects that the contact with the police or courts may have on his clients, and takes their individual needs into account when representing their interests.
Maciej is a specialist in dealing with serious and organised crime and has an impressive record of successfully defending allegations of conspiracy to supply drugs, attempted murder, grievous bodily harm, firearms offences, money laundering, fraud, and sexual offences. These are very demanding and difficult cases which require the highest level of preparation and attention to detail. Maciej has proved many times that his methodical approach to each case and attention to detail, produce positive results for his clients.
R v B – 2024 – secured no further action in respect of allegation of possession of indecent images following submission of detailed pre-charge representations to the Crown Prosecution Service.
R v J – 2024 – secured an acquittal of a client charged with rape and sexual assault following a trial.
R v M – 2024 – submitted a successful application to vary bail to allow a Polish client charged with sexual assault to return to Poland and await trial abroad, despite prosecution’s opposition.
R v P – 2024 – secured an acquittal of a client charged with domestic assault following numerous application to exclude evidence and an application to amend interview transcripts due to incorrect Polish interpretation.
R v K – 2024 – represented a client suspected of possession of indecent images. Pre-charge engagement and sound advice to the client with the police resulted in no further action.
R v L – 2024 – represented a client in relation to POCA proceedings. Following successful submissions, the client’s confiscation order was drafted in terms that allowed him to retain his family home without the need to sell it.
R v D – 2023 – following successful pre-charge engagement, secured a conditional caution for a client charged with production of cannabis
R v M – 2023 – secured an acquittal of a client charged with driving with excess alcohol, following a successful “hip-flask” defence.
R v G – 2022 – secured a community order for a client charged with production and supply of cannabis.
R v B – 2021 – successfully appealed two domestic assault convictions.
R v S – 2020 – represented a client charged with possession of firearm with intent to endanger life. Following lengthy negotiations, client pleaded guilty to reduced charges.
R v T – 2019 – acquittal of prison guard charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm on a prisoner.
R v J – 2019 – secured a non-custodial sentence for a client charged with cultivation of cannabis on a commercial scale.
R v G – 2019 – secured a non-custodial sentence for a client charged with causing death by careless driving.
R v J – 2018 – represented two defendants charged with murder, manslaughter, robbery and kidnap.
R v H – 2018 – acquittal of a young man charged with robbery and false imprisonment.
R v H – 2017 – secured a non-custodial sentence for a client charged with possession of ammunition.
R v H – 2017 – acquittal of a music producer charged with conspiracy to supply class A drugs.
R v L – 2017 – acquittal of a man charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent by driving his car into a motorcycle.
R v B – 2016 – successfully defended a malicious allegation of rape against a young man, who was acquitted by the jury after 40 minutes of deliberation.
R v S – 2016 – represented a suspect facing allegations of historic rape. No charges brought following a series of police interviews.
